Creatorsforcreators.org is offering a grant and mentorship to individual creators that want to break into the comics business. One lucky individual (or two person team) is going to win a $30,000 grant to underwrite a 64-100 page graphic novel, with guaranteed publication by either Image Comics or Iron Circus Comics.
Dream of a lifetime, right? Unfortunately, I can barely draw stick figures, so I won’t be able to win on my own. I need a partner that also wants to break into the business that’s willing to work with me. I can adapt the first third of my book into a standalone work at right around 100 pages, so I need an artist that is currently unpublished, wants to break into comics, and is capable of illustrating a serious horror work about toddlers.
Think you qualify? Drop me a line at kww@motthavenbooks.com. Be prepared to show me some work that will convince me that you are the person I want to work with.
As for my work, you can read a sample of the book here, and it is an IndieFab Award winner for Multicultural Adult Fiction.
